We haven't ever really talked about the video function actually. Most people just feed them through you tube using the text/html box element. Some of the church admin people are messing around with rearranging the site right now and re-deciding what elements they want there. The only thing you have to be worried about with the videos/photos obviously is bandwidth and slowing down the server. It's better for the site performance to feed them in off of another server. With the most recent update, people can activate/deactivate whatever functions they want on their individual pages. The only thing that activating the videos element would do for us is create an aggregation page for all of the uploaded videos. I am not sure if a decision has been made about whether or not we want that, but I can ask and let you know. Bottom line is people can upload videos, just using different methods.
How have you been uploading videos and pics? Can you tell me exactly what you are trying to do? I know it sounds tedious, but it will help me hone in on the issue :) You can call me too: 678.485.2074.
When I go into some things you can click to have it email you a notice every time someone adds a comment. Example "Talk with the pastor" I would like to do this on my group so if I don't go to the church web site for a couple of days I would pick it up in my regular email. How do I get this site to notify me of any postings to a group page?
Some of the tabs are actually linking "off the site." There are two urls associated with the site - http://christiancitychurch.com and http://christiancitychurchatlanta.ning.com. I did notice the problem and will be talking to the person making the updates about it. Thanks for pointing it out. Also, I am working on getting the xml for the podcast updated. Just been incredibly slammed!
Go to "my page", "my settings" and then click email from the left hand menu. You will find the options to email you when certain events occur, ie. when a blog you post to is updated, when someone posts to your group, etc. Let me know if you have any more problems!
